I was very successfully on Tysabri for 7yrs. No side effects to speak of really and more importantly NO relapses whilst on it.
Unfortunately Im now JC Positive so Ive been changed to Ocrevus. I was told that although there are more side effects than Tysabri its every bit as good.
I completed my 1st dose(s) (split in 2 for the 1st time) 2 weeks ago. Since then Ive had a UTI and a cold. Last night I had an extremely upset tummy & today my throat is sore and I feel sick. Im just wondering is this the effects of having a ‘reduced’ immune system?
Unlike when I 1st started Tysabri and was given a booklet on it and lots of info - I was just told I was changing to Ocrevus and that was that.
Can any Ocrevus patients please give me some much needed advice ?
Hi Steffybeth. I’m not on Ocrevus but I just had a quick look at side effects (on the Mayo Clinic website). There does seem to be quite a list of possible ones. Might be worth checking out other sites
I’ve been on the med for 4 years, and been fine through out, only a bit of flushing the next day a couple of times.
It may well be your immune system being knocked that’s brought the ailments to the fore, so once this clears you should be ok.
Everyone’s different in their response, and your doing the right thing making a ledger, so this’ll be noted by the nurse on your next round.
Hope it works out well for you, as it’s a lot more convenient than the monthly infusions.
