Nightmares/night terrors

Hi everyone, So over the last month or 2, I’ve been having a few issues with nightmares/night terrors, never had these before and there not nice. I wake up either screaming, last night I didn’t wake up until my hubby gently held my hand and kept saying my name, I was wailing really loudly, I can’t remember the dream, or even if I was dreaming, but I know I was trying to switch on my bedside lamp.

Today I checked this out online against MS and apparently it can occur in people with MS, so just wanted to know if anyone else has had this ?

Hi Jean

Yes I get night terrors but had them before ms reared it’s ugly head.

Its really frightening because I never wake up with it my hubby always wakes me to say. I never have any idea what I was dreaming or thinking about, it’s horrible I empathize with you.

Take care

Not me but I remember that years ago, before MS diagnosis, I had a small stroke and for some time afterwards would wake from nightmares, in a cold sweat. I think it was the shock of having a stroke and the fear of another ( I do remember standing at the sink sort of paralysed with fear that it could be any time now, any minute now ). I didn’t have another one and it left no permanent damage.

Could you be experiencing something like that?

Hi Hank Dogs. Well that does sound nice for you, bet you’re glad it doesn’t happen now. I’m not sure what’s going on, I am holding a family secret at the moment, a problem between my sister and her daughter, my niece, so I wondered if that was playing on my mind, I suppose if it comes out and these stop then I’ll know.

Thanks again
Jean

Hank Dogs, I meant not nice

Just to add that my wife sometimes has nightmares but they tend to happen when she gets too warm. We have had a few warm nights recently- very unusual for late October - and yes she experienced nightmares. She does however, tend to wrap the blankets around her

Hi Hank Dogs, It’s crazy really isn’t it what can set these things off. Thankfully I haven’t had one for a few nights, so I hope it was a blip.
