Every now and then I am woken in the night by my head and body feeling most odd. Like a fuzzy buzzing which doesn’t last long but is scary, more so post MS diagnosis. I have had two or three this year so far. It goes off quiet quickly and doesn’t leave any lasting symptoms other than my usual. It feels a bit like being plugged into the mains but not painful just disturbing. Has anyone else experienced this? A bit worried …
hard to know exactly what u r feeling/describing aint it?!
i get similar i think?! frequently but doesnt matter what time it is, day or night. i put it down to nerves misfiring/trying to get the messages thru to wherever they are trying to get to.
a very unmedical explaination and dunno if that reassures you or not?!
I think i get what you are describing,i get it quite often but mines during the day mostly.i have started getting a ‘brain quake’ feeling, i posted on here about it a few week ago and i got a reply, and they said they get the same.
i also get what i can only describe as a seizure type thing, but dr said they are not seizures,i get a lot of this type of thing where my brain feels so weird , when i try to describe them i am looked at as tho i am a freak lol.
Had this happen to me over the years. I call them night terrors. It’s no big thing for me anymore but used to spook me right out in the beginning. Used to feel a bit embarrassed to say to any medical professionals as can be explained by other things. I usually find that not getting adequate rest and worrying makes it more prone to happen. When it happens I treat it as a bad dream, shrug off and forget about it.
Ive had similar with ice pick pains in my head which resulted in stroke like symptoms- slurred speech, inability to control my right side and then 5 - 10 mins later I’d recovered. This was the symptom that led to my diagnosis & luckily since then I just get sharp pains every now and then but its never developed as it did 11years ago. Last year I had a buzzing sensation down both sides of my body whenever I had been sitting down and then went to walk more than 50 yards. It washed over me like waves on a beach, which also affected my walking ability while it was happening. My walking has deteriorated a bit since, but just means I dont charge round like I used to - now just normal/slowish pace.
Hmm, my sensation is a bit like you describe about it being like a buzzing all over which washes down from my head to all over then gradually fades. It always happens at night and seems to be when having a bad dream. I don’t move whilst this is going on. I am not sure if I could move I just tend to just lie there and wait for it to pass. I wonder if the bad dream triggers is because during these I am quite distressed by the dream. Maybe the stress triggers it? I had the first one before I was diagnosed or maybe before my first real attack and remember thinking I must have been having some kind of fit. It had happened I have had this about six times over the past couple of years. Since diagnosis I have had them more frequently and because I have MS I now wonder if this is another symptom. I wonder if anyone else who has commented on this has asked their MS Dr about it?
Speaking of these weird episodes I had another one last night. It’s like being gently tasered. I waited for it to pass then rolled over an soon dropped off. I had some mild muscle twitches in one leg but not too bothersome. Only noteworthy thing is this last one is close to previous one. Much sooner than any before. Can’t make up my mind to let my MS Dr know? I am due for an MRI soon.
