Hi. I’ve been diagnosed since 2009, however this is my first time joining any sort of group. So here goes - Hi guys!
I live in Beverley, East Yorkshire. I’ve been relatively healthy, and in the most part, still consider myself so. However I’m getting so frustrated by my deteriorating memory. At work I make constant lists, so no one notices. At home is a different story and I forget what I’ve come into a room for!
I’m going to go to a ‘drop in’ group, in a couple of weeks, just to connect with people who might be experiencing similar problems. There is only do much I can say to my husband.
Anyway, here goes my first post.

Hello mate
Welcome aboard
I’m fairly recently diagnosed but, I know what you mean about the memory thing and, I think lists work great but, I do often forget what word I’m looking for in conversations.
It’s good to hear that you still feel fairly healthy - long may that continue
All the best x
Jon.

Hi @ljd72 welcome on board! I was diagnosed nearly 3 years ago (RRMS) and also have the same problem and had started doing long lists or writing things down. Forgetting words or what i was meant to do when getting into a room happens pretty often too … you are not alone but above all you are still you so keep positive!!!

Hello @ljd72 I don’t know if this will help but have a look at the website of Food For the Brain. It’s not so much about food (but does have stuff on brain health and foods) as it is about keeping our brains as healthy and ‘young’ as possible: diet, exercise and mental activity.
If you are interested it also offers regular Cognitive Function tests and stores your results/ performance over time. I’ve been doing them for years.
Ooops! I’ve actually been doing the Great British Intelligence Test - not Food for the Brain tests! The Great British etc test is run as a research programme by one of the London Universities and invites you to complete tests twice a year. It’s pretty thorough and needs some dedicated quiet time to complete.
