I know I’m not very good at computers (to say the least) but this is difficult to work out.
I tried to make a new thread but it wouldn’t let me post it kept saying there is no category, but when I clicked on it it wouldn’t let me type anything! So I’ve tagged in here. Good luck everyone.

Just accessed new site for first time. I am finding it very different but I feel that I will get used to it - I’m sure you will too.
I am not very good at learning new things and retaining information these days but will keep accessing as the site has been very informative for me since I first joined.

The stark whiteness is brutal on the eyes I agree. Not liking that at all. Can’t see what needed improving on the old one, a couple more sections added would have been good but heyho ‘progress’
How did you manage to read the original post? I still can’t figure that out. Mine is nearly white on a white background, with the rest of the page dark.

With great difficuly, NorasMom. I am sitting at a desktop PC with a 24 inch screen, but I still had to screw my eyes up to read it.
EDIT: A few mins later and I just can’t figure out why this reply isn’t attached to the post containing your question.

Yeah; they’re not attaching where they’re supposed to. Ben, if you figure it out again and can give me step-by-step instructions, I’d greatly appreciate it! I had to switch back to the white screen just to do this.
Hi its crazy chick. ok i was invited to test it, and believe it or not i said the same. TOO BUSY, too much stuff going on around me made me feel sick.
now one thing you can do when you reply on the right you get a PANE with what you are writing. very small down on the right of it you will see << if you click it the pane closes which cuts back some of the white, but still gives you white border.
just come on slowly it is better overall but it takes a lot of savvy to get to use it, i also said that and the terms and conditions too.

I’ve got it on dark mode and it’s still too bright.
The black background shines, it doesn’t help at all.

I’ve got it on dark mode now. You shouldn’t have to use dark mode. But, even the dark mode is bright.

Thanks for info. Works fine apart from when going to drill down on a thread original reappears off white on white! On the old system if you wanted to go back to the original you needed to close the thread. Now it is there but unreadable!
Teething problems and the joy of software. Otherwise seems to be an improvement, but just feeling my way around.
