Anyyone taking older meds for neuropathic pain? I started on amitryptaline fell and knocked myself out then gabapentin this didn’t suit either pregabalin is okay on very low dose but when I raise it I have to lower it again just can’t get above 25mg now down to twice a day. MS nurse told me not to worry as more to try but hasn’t told me anything about them or what they are, bit worried if I can’t tolerate newer ones how will I manage older ones?

How long did you stay on amitriptyline? It took me a good few weeks to adjust to it where I had to do very little, then I lost all side effects and it was great for my pain.
I also take a big dose of alpha lipoic acid which definitely helps with tingling.

I wasn’t on it more than a week. My Dr. took me off it said it wasn’t going to work for me, horrible stomach pain then passed out and banged my head, woke up in darkness with hubby trying to open door but I was behind it, it could have been a comedy.
