Neck pain

Hi peeps… for past week or so been having terrible neck pain, shoulder numbness and burning sensations. Cant sleep at all, cant get comfortable. Thought it was another relapse starting as my right arm, hand, foot were affected and havent had this before in my right side, always been the left. Hands and feet absolutely freezing on and off as well… Had a look at the Internet today and after reading few sites, they mention trapped nerve… so could it be that or is it the MS flare up.

Have made an appointmen to see osteopath, not that I can afford it though, but dont know how much longer can handle this. Its also affected my driving as my right foot was numb so unable to feel peddle, hence no driving. Was due to go back to work this Monday, cant see it now!!! My MS nurse is coming to see me ths week, but not sure whether to just go and see osteopath anyway, would it make any difference…

Any feedback greatly appreciated x G

Hi,

I get the neck pain as well as the shoulders, in fact with MS I get a lot of pain, mines more to do with spasms, my neck gets so bad I wear a scarf in bed, LOL, just to keep it from cramping up, it helps a little, I also put a heat pad on in a morning to loosen things up. I also get the cold hands and feet, but then they can be burning hot too, my nuero told me this is nerve pain, I now have this 24/7, cold during the day, burning at night, MS sends us a lot of different symptoms, I think you might find it’s more to do with MS than anything else, oh and why are you paying to see a osteopath let your nurse refer you. Good luck and take care. XX

Hi, I think the only thing that will determine 100 percent whether it’s a trapped nerve or not, under the circumstances, would be an MRI scan, as it could be a bulging disc. Hope you get sorted soon. J x

Thanx v much for your comments, spoke to MS nurse yday… goin down hosp on friday to speak to physio/occupational therapist… told me to forget the osteopath !!!

Please let us know what the physio and OT say. I get neck pain as well - nowhere near as extreme as yours but annoying.

Burning sensation worse, been referred for physio, prob have to wait for months for that. Been told another relapse and offered steriods but had enough of them in the past few months. So crossing my fingers for a bit of relief and do exercises they showed me and take the ibruofen.
