Hi hope you can give me some advice. For the last three weeks I’ve been what I can only describe as having little muscle pops/jumps in my buttocks thighs knees and arms oh and even torso they do it for a period of minutes then stop I only notice them when rest? But they are not always there Does anybody else have this ? They are not as big as jerks Thanks Kirsty x x
Hi Kirsty
What you’re describing sounds like fasiculations or for want of a better word twitches. I get them in different areas at the randomest times - some very intense and noticeable so you can see the msucle twicthing others only I can feel. Bum, legs, shoulder, arms oh and tummy are where I’ve had mine. They’re only momentary a few minutes but it’s just a bit annoying I find - specially when it’s intense as it distracts you. At times I might not have any for days than suddenly they’ll be there again.

Hi Reemz is it something that is common with MS. I am not dx and am very nervous about all these new things happening. Kirsty x
Hi Kirsty
They can happen in MS as well as in many other conditions. I’m like you - undiagnosed so I can understand how scary a new symptom can be. But hang in there. I don’t know how far down the diagnostic process you are but I’ve been seen by various neuros for nearly a year and symptoms for year and a half and I can say you do become more at ease with certain things (i.e like now I don’t think too much about the twitches, or vibrations or small patches of numbness too much - it’s more the big things that are worrying), at least in my case anyway. I think knowing the diagnostic process is so long has made me want to try and enjoy when I’m feeling well without over doing it - not to say its not hard when you’re having a bad day. The forum is also great at putting you eat esae - knowing that someone else has experienced what you have does feel better - I know when I got twitches I questioned whether they were really happening as I didn’t understand until someone else said they had them. So it helps to share.
Good luck - hope you’re not finding your twitches too bothersome and are on the road to getting some answers soon.

Hey Kirsty…I’m in a similar position to you and it is so weird trying to go on with your daily routine with all the freaky stuff kicking in and out.
Sometimes I literally jump and squeal liek a pig when I get the electric shock goosebumps but I have asked my husband a few times if I am bussing in bed. It would be funny but I think I scare him a little…but at times I truly think he must be able to feel it.
I just comeon here and chat to others to remind myself that I am not mad and I was sane before this and hope to remain so… lol. You aren’t alone xx
Hi Kirsty- I could totally relate you your description as I got this quite bad last year, mainly when I was in rested or during the night it would wake me up. I have spinal lesions which I think caused it and yes I have MS. One of the many symptoms unfortunately. I was prescribed carbamazepine and it worked well. Weaned myself off after a couple of months and it hasnt come back as bad but I still get them on and off. Hope you get some answers soon. Best wishes Heather
Hi Kirsty,
Im undiagnosed so not sure if my twitches have an ms connection but I can just tell you I have really suffered from this - crazy twitches in different very odd places ranging from arms, legs to even my bum and stomach and back so i know how you feel and that it gets very irritating. They come and go and I have gotten used to them but they are unnerving. Anyway, you are not alone
Best, Caro
ps. oh and I understand about the buzzing / vibration too. I started a post about that recently - here is the link for you if you would like to read what others wrote:
Thank you to every one who has commented you have made me feel better as someone else can relate to how I feel. I am trying to carry on as much as normal, and adapt to all these weird sensations being that I am not dx it’s hard as I’m sure everyone else who’s awaiting dx as you really don’t have any professional to ask advice from. Thank you again Kirsty x x
I get these feelings too, have done for ages. They can get very very annoying, total sympathy there!
