MS relapse?

Hi, I’m hoping someone can help. My husband has MS and caught flu over Christmas which he has recovered from but it’s left his legs extremely weak. He is just about able to furniture walk but he’s finding it difficult to weight bear. It has been nearly two weeks now and he’s been advised by his MS nurse that there’s no treatments that can help. I thought that maybe steroids could be offered but we’ve been told it isn’t an option. Does anyone else have a similar experience of infection causing a flare up of ms symptoms? If so, is there anything he can do to help his legs recover? Thank you

Hi a couple of years ago I had a nasty bout of Covid and that exacerbated my MS. My legs would not support me at all.
Gradually my legs became a little stronger but I had to use a rollator. A few weeks later I was offered an appointment with a neuro physio who I saw once a week for six weeks. I was given exercises to do every other day at home. This was so helpful and I recommend you speak to your GP for an appointment with a neuro physio. There is often a long wait but really can be helpful.
