MS nurse new symptoms

Hi all,

This might be a bit vague but my nurse told me if I ever experience new symptoms to call.

But how do I know what’s a new symptoms and what’s a coincidence?! I don’t want to waste their time and feel stupid calling for something that’s nothing

If you’re not already, I’d suggest keeping a diary of your symptoms both past and present. I keep all mine in an excel and it has actually come in useful for understanding my disease.

Please see below link explaining how to determine symptoms/relapses and more importantly when and why to report any changes, this is what your nurse has asked you to do so there’s nothing stupid or time wasting about it.

Thank you so much!

I‘ve been keeping track in a diary but I am excel savvy so perhaps that will
Be a good way to track too, thanks for the tips! Xx

I’ve called the nurse but not heard back yet. I’m not sure if I should phone the doctor my left leg is on fire! And has been for 5 days now it always feels sunburnt and anything cool or cold touches it and it feels like someone is pouring a boiling kettle over me, this is the first time I’ve had this and I am so uncomfortable!

It wouldn’t hurt to call the docs whilst you wait for the nurse, especially if you neuropathic pain is continuous and I know they can prescribe something for that.

You’ll still need to let the nurse know of these things if you’re in England as the nhs systems aren’t linked.

P.s. I get burning calves too but only at night and mostly during my cycle. Not enough to need meds for it.

The nurse has thankfully called me
Back and is trying to get me seen tomorrow!

I’ve not experienced this before and I hope it doesn’t come back because I’m ready to sell my leg on the black
Market

Thank you for your help, if you hadn’t have sent me the links I wouldn’t have called the nurse I would’ve tried to wait it out
