MS Hug???

Not diagnosed - awaiting neurology appointment.

4 times in the last year i have experienced this horrible throbbing sort of pain in my right side rib area at the front. It lasts hours. I can feel it coming on then it sort of intensifies as the day goes on - i have felt sick with it and the only thing that slightly relieves it is adding pressure to the area ( i was lying down on my front with a hot water bottle under me pressing in). The only way i can describe it is as if someone has put their hand into my ribs and is squeezing?! Its a pain very deep inside. Its not agony but its really not nice.
I have been to a gp twice and was sent for an ultrasound/bloods and all fine.
It last happened last week (on my birthday :frowning: ) and after doing some reading online i saw that someone mentioned Diazepam as being a help to them during an MS hug… i have some so i took one to see and i kid you not the pain went within the hour… this has never happened no matter what painkillers i take!!

So my question is…does anyone relate with this pain? Does it sound like something you have had?

As i mentioned i have not been diagnosed but i have multiple symptoms

Hi. I have been having this since October. It intensifies while I am walking - feeling pressure in my chest, I would joke as if someone has opened my ribcage, implanted a brick there and then closed it. Very unpleasant sensation which takes away the pleasure of taking walks. I am currently undergoing plasma course and taking Gabapentin. Hope this tjing will go away.

Oh my goodness yes I know that pain!!! Sorry if this is an old post I’m still new at this site.
Did you find out if it is the ms hug?
It is horrible and I totally sympathise :face_holding_back_tears: it got so bad a year ago that an ambulance took me to hospital thinking it could be heart related, but it wasn’t. They didn’t know what caused it and sent me home. I’ve had it since when I’ve over done it, and just recently in the last few weeks on and off regardless of whether I’m resting or moving it just comes on randomly.
I hope you are ok,
Take care.
