MS and Table Tennis

Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum. I am 68 and about a year ago I was diagnosed with PPMS, which with hindsight I may have had for circa 10 years. Obviously not happy with the diagnosis but it did make sense of my longstanding symptoms which included a really bad case of Shingles 5 years ago and resultant PHN.

I am always in discomfort and I am gradually losing control, such is the nature of MS, but I have recently read that table tennis can help slow progression. Has anyone any experience of this, if so I would love to hear about it

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, in which case please point me at it.

Hello @mike1
Welcome. I liked playing table tennis b4. All exercise is beneficial, it’s physical therapy. My reactions have slowed somewhat these days, I fear if I played again, I would be much like the player in Pulp’s Help The Aged music video.
Best,
JP
