I’m wondering if anyone has any similar experience as me so I can find out if my stretch marks are related to my ms
I’m 14 years old and never had stretch marks before but I realised since my first attack 3 months ago I’ve seem to of come up with loads of deep stretch marks I have been told it could be because of where I was on steroids but since I’ve been off them they have still been getting worser and worser
I have tried to do some research on any similarities of ms and outbreak in stretch marks but I can’t find anything so if anyone has any similar experience it would be really helpful and ways to stop them appearing
Apologies I’m still only young and trying to really get a grasp on this condition so any advice with this problem is greatly appreciated
I think stretch marks and multiple sclerosis is just a coincidence. I know you get stretch marks as you grow up or especially after weight loss or child birth; although it may look unsightly, they do fade over time and hey-ho beauty is only skin deep.
I got stretch marks at about your age. It can be a number of things hormones, changing body, or it could just be genetics. Moisturising and a product called bio oil can help a bit but they will fade. Most women get them and some men do. I know it can be upsetting to get them I was but now I just look at them as war wounds from being a woman
CC Don’t worry about them, my oh (a 61 year old man) has had them since he got a growth spurt as a teenager (he’s 6”2) he also says he had a lot of pain as his bones got longer and has always called them “growing pains” I’ve got a picture of him at 22 ( terrible Photo Booth picture) and everyone says he looked like Liam Payne from One Direction back then.
If in a few years they haven’t faded away you probably won’t give a fig about them anymore because other things will become far more important. They don’t hurt. They are just something else us humans have always had.
