Hi i have an MRI of my head soon. But im extremely claustrophobic, i have been given 2 diazepam to take before the scan. But have you any tips or can you tell me what happens does your body go into the scanner? Or is it just the head?

Welcome, @Simba. Hopefully you will get additional responses but in the mean time you may find the following thread useful.
Hi, I am claustrophobic too. I had two MRIs last week and I find the best thing to do is put a mask over your eyes. They didnt have a mask so used a ‘covid mask’ instead but it worked well. I just pretend I am somewhere else. There is usualy good air flow through so it doesnt feel too bad. Good luck. Alexa

Hi @lexiB78, firstly welcome. I try and close my eyes before I enter the tube, the temptation not to open them is so hard. That adds to my stress. I love your suggestion of a mask I am definitely going to pinch it for my next MRI.
