My neurologist recheck appointment has been moved forward to March as I’ve had nonstop pain around my left eye and the left side of my face. This is the eye that the neurologist identified optic disc pallor and pain when moving my eye. I informed the GP who told me to keep record for the neurologist. My scalp and skin around my left eye are extremely sensitive and painful, if I tie my hair up it makes the pain worse and even rubbing my eye to remove make up makes the pain more intense. The optician queried if it was optic neuritis but I’m still in the dark on this. Currently on 500mg naproxen twice daily to try keep the pain at bay whilst I wait. No vision loss or colour deficits, current glasses script has been checked and no issues there. Has anyone else had this? The pain sometimes improves, only for me to scratch my head or feel cold air on my face outside and it intensifies again.
