I was put on metronidazole 200mg tablets to be taken 1 three times a day. When i phoned the chemist to ask how many hours in between i should leave between each dose they said 8 hours. so i said to the chemist then im not taking 3 a day if i do that but he said that what i should do.
When i told him i took 2 tablets within 4 hours earlier he said that i would be fine but from now on to space them out.
1st question has anyone one else had the same perscription and what did they do?
2nd question is will i be fine having taken 2 tablets within 4 hours?
When I had a bad tooth infection, I was prescribed 400mg, 1 to be taken 3 times daily, so you should be fine. Whatever you do, don’t drink any alcohol with them!
Hi, the first dose is fine but as Val says, best to try for that. The idea is to build up the concentration of the drug in your body and to maintain the optimum concentration. Just also remember, no alcohol whilst taking them.
