Hi I’m new to the forum and am mentally disabled so it’s going to be hard me getting it right and sustaining it but I was just wandering if memory issues had anything to do with MS, which I’m awaiting a diagnosis for it seems like my memory has deteriorated exponentially and if there was any help around this. I also have diagnosis of dry eyes which makes it even harder on my weakened muscles. Today I got weak in my breathing chest and abdominal area which I’m gutted about, does anyone know if this is something that lasts percifically? Kind regards Helen (that’s my real name, the login name is my email name I like it because it has a long ring to it like a tune!)
Hi cosmicdreamer Helen. This is just my totally non-expert view but from what I know, memory problems can be a symptom but usually not to begin with ( I could be quite wrong on this). Are your memory problems relatively recent? I’m asking because when I was starting on the diagnostic journey my mind was totally preoccupied with that and with increasing anxiety about the possibility of MS . Other things got pushed to the back of my mind / just didn’t seem at all important
It’s funny I was just debating my next move on memory when I got your response which I am grateful for. I’m on mental health medication which gives side effects similar to MS, so I’m deliberateing whether to reduce them as it’s quite an urgent memory problem that I don’t want to push any further but the drs are too slow to respond and say things take time, but my body is either reacting badly to these meds, or if besides my mental health I have an MS diagnosis if so I shouldn’t change my meds, I’ve never been in such a difficult dilemma my whole life, it’s ruling everything, a sort of dicotamoy!
