Has anyone else had their bad memory used against them in an argument? I’m becoming increasingly frustrated and annoyed when any argument or discussion I have is lost/dismissed with the famous words: “You just don’t remember, you know what your memory’s like” and that’s the end of the subject - even if I’m actually right? Aaargh!
Yes. Marcus.
We need to come up with a great retort, but I can’t think of anything good!

You could say, “Well I still remember how to swear…F*** YOU”
Ha ha, brilliant! Yeah, I’m almost there, it’s SOOO annoying!
yes very often. my kids often say to me do you remember that day that we did that? i rarely remember anything thats happened before unless it was really bad emotionally, yet, dont remember anything that was really good emotionally. i have even forgotten to go to work twice! (even though i have written the rotas, i have no idea who’s supposed to be working on what day!) if i put myself in to work on a day that i dont normally work my colleague will ring me the night before to remind me. i always think, “its ok, i can remember that, i dont need to write it down” i never do remember.! i think i probably over/under dose on medication too because i just dont know if i have already taken them. so you’re not alone, although it is extremely annoying when you have no self defence because you just dont know what your self defence is! on the upside, i can read the same books over again and the same programmes best wishes mandy xx
I can totally equate with the pill taking scenario, mandy, I’m exactly the same. I took my cat to the vet, put her down (in her carry basket) while I went to the loo, came out, and went home without her! When I was last at neuro, the young accompanying doctor said she was going to check out my Alzheimer’s - that freaked me out a bit. x
i’ve had that one before too - drives me mad, hate my memory

you’ve got to laugh or else you’d cry. i have driven to town and come back on the bus, thought nothing of it until i went to look in the car to see if i had left something there and lo and behold it wasnt there!!! :o  could be worse though i could have reported it stolen!! :o :o
