I’ve had a lumbar puncture 10 days ago. I initially had lower back pain for about 2 days, then awful headache which resolved after staying in bed for almost a week. This morning I woke up with right hip pain and sweating like crazy on/off. Has anyone experienced this? Does it go away? I’m worried that just when I thought it all settled, symptoms are getting worse.
Hi I had a lumbar puncture last wed, and am still having terrible headaches. Also my b Low back over left hip is giving me bother but I feel like it’s an irritation if the needle maybe?. I too felt like I was starting to build myself back up after a terrible xmas, of feeling down and weak with lots of symptoms, I was getting fit and strong again up to having LP and now feel I’ve had the stuffing knocked out if me, The headaches have effected my hearing too, I can’t bear any no Noise, and I just feel all clumsy and nit with it at all. Lisa, My hip pain has abated to a great extent by this morning but in the meantime another atrocious headache kicked in this morning. So much so that I had to go to hospital and get checked - I just couldn’t keep my head upright, the room was spinning and I was so nauseous. They pumped me with strong painkillers intravenously while doing tests and ct scan and the pain finally started to ease up by the afternoon. Apparently it is likely to have been migrainous headache due to the lumbar puncture (says the neurologist, who, by the way, was very thorough in his checking). So I’m on Naproxen for 4 weeks now. Ugh.
