Still awaiting diagnosis but due to see neurologist in 3 weeks after my gp insisted I be seen ‘very urgently’. Pretty convinced it’s MS …. Too many signs not to be sure, but the latest is now I have loose teeth!!! I use an electric toothbrush and floss but my teeth all of a sudden have started to ache (a dull ache), and cause headaches, plus 2 molars are loose !!! Apparently it’s yet another symptom of the gift of MS that keeps giving !!!
Oh that’s a horrid thing to happen - I hate it when my teeth are playing up (as they often seem to me). I didn’t know it was an MS thing, though - I just put it down to having inherited my teeth from the wrong side of the family… That at anno Domini in my case.
And I’m sorry you still don’t know for sure what the matter is. I hope that you get come clarity at long last.
I do hope you get this resolved. Though I struggle to see how MS would make you lose your teeth.
Hi Barnsleynanna. It’s not something I’ve ever heard mentioned, with ms in the same sentence. My teeth do ache at times but whether or not it’s ms related I wouldn’t know. But I learn a little more, every so often, about the way ms affects. Hope you get a definited answer soon enough, if it is ms causing your teeth problems.
Hi, I am new here. My name is Katie. I have had multiple sclerosis for 18 years and I will tell you I have had ups and downs. I am currently on Ocrevus. It does seem to help although I have had a few flareups I have been on so many Copaxone Avonex a few more I feel like Ocrevus is good but it lowers your immune system even more since diagnosed with MS. I have other diagnosis as well. Going through something right now wondering if it has to do with my MS or if it could be rheumatoid arthritis as far as your teeth I’ve never heard that multiple sclerosis affects your teeth, but it is the whole nervous system so who knows I hope you feel better
Do you have a vitamin D deficiency?
