Wondering if it is worth pushing for further investigations… my partner has been suffering from a range of symptoms in the last few years. Started slow and have been worsening more rapidly this year. His uncle has MS which started a similar way so we paid for a whole body protocol MRI in 2025 as a one off from Vista health. The report said no abnormalities. However, since then, his symptoms have escalated a lot and I’m wondering if we should push for another MRI, and a “specific” MS protocol? Last year he had abdominal pain, joint pain, headaches and fatigue. Now he has right-sided weakness and pain, pins and needles in right hand and foot, strange temperature sensations in feet, sensation of hands seizing up when doing fine motor activities, brain fog, reactions to many drugs and procedures, insomnia, urinary sensation and control issues, pain 24/7. Symptoms are having a huge impact on his life. He cannot do any of his hobbies, hasn’t slept properly in months, is in pain all the time and is struggling to continue working because of the brain fog and fatigue.
Has anyone got an opinion on whether it’s worth repeating the MRI or pushing or other investigations and tests?
All other tests so far have been normal -scopes, abdominal ultrasound, abdominal CT, bloods etc.
Does anyone have any suggestions on medication that could relieve any of the symptoms. Paracetamol etc does not help the pain and nortriptyline caused unbearable brain fog that he couldn’t work with.
