Hi, I am also very glad and relieved for you that it isnt cancer…but all the same, she needs love and carer…where are all those kids/grandkids? Amazing how they are all unavailable, innit?
I have 2 sisters. One is 65, tother is 66 and is one of my carers. She takes me out, goes to medical appts with me and speaks up when necessary, as my poor hearing lets me down and sleeps over. When it
s lights out, we play ABC…guessing games with alphabet answers. We reminisce, we laugh, we pull faces…we have fun…we also share the bad times as only close sisters can.
Treasure your`s.
much, much special love, Pollyxxxxxxx
What a lovely post Poll. You are obviously very close and its so nice to hear about positives too, we often forget to mention things or people that make us happy or mean so much to us. It made me sit and think of all the people close to me and reminded me to show my appreciation of the really small things more.
That wasn’t meant to halt anyone who’s feeling low, but we often don’t think to post when everything seems to be going well. Cath xx
Hi M - just caught up with this. So sorry for all the shocks you’ve had about your sister this week. So glad she’s not got cancer - hope they can fix her bowel! Sisters are very precious and I bet yours is glad to have you to look out for her. Hope her children step in and give her some support too! Take care of you, as well as her! Teresa xx
Cheers guys, I’m afraid it has gone from back to worse! I phoned as usual yesterday morning to find out how my sister was, she had been moved to Intensive Care. What a bloody shock - under statement!, I have been told that her children have it covered. So finally they are pulling together and I’ve been told to butt out, I can be a bit like a bull in a china shop when someone is not being looked after. FamiliesI was/am very upset about is going on. Take care, be safe M
So sorry to hear this M - I really hope your sister is soon out of the ICU. My 17 yo son was in the ICU when he was 14 for a similar reason and he recovered really well. The nurses in ICU are so amazing, she’ll have the best care possible. I hope you are able to get in to see her soon! Glad her family is now supporting her but it’s true that families can be very awkward! Hope things turn out well - let us know! Teresa xx
Hi M, I am so sorry to hear this. Very scary for you.
My neighbour had a bad fall when she was 80… couple of years ago. She (silly woman) wasn’t wearing her emergency pendant so lay there for over 6 hours with broken hip!
She was in ICU for weeks and had major organ failure. They thought she wouldn’t live.
I just saw her… off out for Sunday lunch with her son. So fingers crossed my darling.
Glad her kids are finally there for you… but yes, families can be VERY hard work.
Take good care hon. Thinking of you.

Hi M
Sorry to hear this, what a terrible shock for you. Whilst its awful for all of you, she will get the very best treatment in there. I do hope you get better news when you next see her.
I agree, families can make it difficult, hang in there.

Hi M. Sorry to hear about your sister’s deterioration. I hope she’s responding well to her treatment, at least she’s in the right place where she’ll be getting specialist care and any change is noted immediately. I wish you both luck. Cath xx
Hi guys, what a see-saw I have been onShe has been very poorly but got out of ICU when stabalized! She is suppose to get home today, my major problem - me butting in? There is no heat in her room (at home) I think her 5 kids should ‘take on’ the miserable/mean/tight… bas££ard that is their father and get him to heat the room. It’s a complicated family fingers crossed, it reminds me of a Victorian melodrama. Not easy to butt out, her children seem to perfer HIM. Take care and be safedoes life have to be this complicated? Sorry to be so long winded about all of this, my mother use to say 'there are more ways to kill a cat than with a stick’M
What a nighmare! I’m relieved for you that she’s stabilised but I think I’d stick my nose in just the way you’ve done, it’s only natural and she shouldn’t be denied basics like heating.
Take care and you know we’re all here if you need to vent more.

Glad she is stable M - hope the family sorts themselves out and get her some heating! Teresa xx
Glad she’s well enough to go home… terrible shame about the heating!
Families eh? Never easy.
Hope you’re doing ok love and feeling calmer… try not to let the family drive you nuts.

Hi guys, my sister is home, there’s a small heater in her room - it was worth all the stress. It’s as if her 71 years have hit all at once, bloody shame. It was septicemia and she is very lucky to be alive, the skill and care at the hospital saved her Cheers and be safeM
Hi M
So glad your sister has improved and gone home, there is nowhere like home when things are tough. Go8d job the medics were on the ball, and now I hope she goes on recouperating.
Take care
