It’s Friday - yay! The weather is rubbish this weekend - boo! As an aside, has anyone had their kitchen adapted? This is my current project. We have a separate kitchen/diner and dining room, and I’m wanting to knock them into one so I have a kitchen area and dining area. It’ll mean blocking a couple of doorways up, creating a new doorway, relocating light switches and radiators…it’ll be quite a big job. I don’t know whether I need a builder or a kitchen company. My OT gave me details of a company called Metropolitan which could help with individual stages or project manage the whole lot, but they’ve said you have to be one of their residents. I think they’re more of a property management company. I’ve emailed a couple of companies that fit disabled kitchens. Guess I’ll see what they come back with. Heather
Hi Heather, I would think it’s a builder you need. My brother-in-law (now retired) used to do that sort of work, and he would do the building work and fit the kitchen. See what those companies say. Yep it’s a lot of work! But if it makes life easier it’ll be worth it. Good luck with it. Very grey and wet here in London. I’m going to do a Sainsburys internet order for tomorrow… so won’t have to go out at all! Let us know how you get on with building work… Pat xx
Hi Heather. I’d also go with a builder. You’re right, it’ll be a big messy job but so worth it. Have a lovely weekend.
