Hi everyone,
I was sitting down earlier and got this severe pain in my upper back at the back, where your lungs are. If felt like something was stuck. I could hardly move it lasted about 25 minutes. It also hurt when I was breathing in. It was severe pain, and was quite frightening. Could this be the ms hug ??? Does the ms hug come and go ???
Any help please would be appreciated.
OK whilst you are waiting for a reply instead you should ring your GP as any pain in the chest area needs to be taken a bit seriously.
It could be many things, yes the MS hug, indigestion or a warning. Please have it checked if your not sure ok. x
Hi When I get the MS hug its more like a band being placed around my chest and pulled tight so it hurts to breathe. I don’t get the severe pain although I know everyone is different. I would advise getting an appointment to see your GP as that is the safest option. Stay safe and I hope you get it sorted soon. xxx
Hi,
I got severe pain in a band around my chest lasted all morning. 1st time ever. Hurt to breathe in and out deeply. Ended up phoning 111 as I was on my own and frightened. They sent an ambulance. Lots of checks and diagnosed as neurological.
Called in for an appt with my GP (pre Covid) given diazepam for if it happens again.
Said I did the right thing going to hospital.
Get yourself checked out.
Hope it doesn’t happen again.

Hi and commiserations, I have had an extreme pain with the hug. I called ms nurse and mentioned that I nearly called an ambulance this seemed to stir things up I was prescribed Clonazepam which knocked me out nerve pain was excruciating. Fortunately for me it mainly happened at night and I soon learned not to panic as this makes it worse and to lay down and try to keep calm, difficult I know.
Saying all this, like others I think you should see a doctor as it could be something else best to have it checked out.
