Hello to all you lovely folk and I hope you are all as well as can be.
Well schools in Glasgow finished for the holidays last Friday and I would say it has rained daily since. Ah well, it will improve soon.
I am yet again asking for a wee bit of advice/knowledge from you AGAIN (sorry)
I had my tysabri infusion yesterday and as usual they check urine. The doctor said there was protein in it but as I was not symtomatic he would go ahead with the tysabri.
I was advised to contact my gp which I did when iI left the hospital, popped a asample to them and yes an infection. 1 week course of antibiotics.
I just was wondering can a urine infection make ms a bit worse. I have been very staggery and dizzy this week and thought(hoped not ) that the ms was progressing. Sorry for the long winded rabble just know iI can rely on you for advice.
Mary x
Hi Mary
The short answer is yes, infections can definitely cause ms symptoms to get worse. On top of just feeling rough, my legs are always weaker. Things always get back to normal when the pills kick in. Drink plenty of water to help flush your bladder (not caffeine or juice or fizzy drinks)
