I was diagnosed with RRMS sept 23, had ON around the same time. My eye-sight is awful, and has shown no improvement. Light and heat sensitivity affecting blur, and constant VSS. No treatment offered outside of my regular Kespimpta. Does this resinate? Ive had no suggestion of hope or help. My world is blurry, distorted and i cant drive. Is there any reason to hope my future may be better? Anything i can do? I’m beaten at this point
They might suggest tinted lenses or simple vision exercises that can help with light and heat sensitivity. Some people also find cooling goggles or a low‑vision specialist useful.
Hi, sorry to hear of your ON experience. 2 bouts of ON in 4 months ultimately led to my RRMS diagnosis 7 years ago. I had next to no vision in one eye and none at all in the other. With steroids and time it did come back but only one eye recovered to pre ON levels and that took about 18 months. My other eye did get better but never recovered fully. Today I have issues with bright lights, headlight glare etc. But otherwise business as usual. Try and stay positive, I’m certain things will get better.
I had ON in 2020, I had lost my vision completely in right eye. Vision recovered up to 75% within two years. It took time. The best and fastest recovery was when the doctor prescribed me high dosage of vitamin D, but that may be unrelated.
After 2 years, it simply does not get any better, but opticians can do wonderful things. Truly. They gave me the right glasses and wirh my glasses on, I can do really well.
