How much packageing is too much?

Today i took delivery of a new kitchen appliance,and was amazed at how much packaging there was to get to the item.

So i counted the pieces 14 pieces of cardboard of diferent shapes and thicknesess.

5 plastic bags all different shapes ect.

1piece of polystyrene.

1cable tie.

1 cover for the plug.

The large outer box .

then the plastic bag its wrapped in for delivery.

How much is too much? theres no wonder things cost so much and then all this packaging goes into recycle bins.

Do you think this could be changed in any way.

Yes thankfully it was a chip pan and it did work had nice chips for my tea.
