So I’ve been thinking. Over the last year I’ve been awarded the higher rate of DLA, and have a lovely car on the motability scheme.
I’ve been given a blue badge, making parking so much easier.
Have a plus one card so an adult can get into theatres, swimming pools and a variety of other attractions with me for free as my carer, and a similar scheme for cinema’s.
When renewing my season ticket for the Ospreys they told me I could get an adult ticket for free for my carer.
I’ve discovered radar keys which will make things so much easier!
There’s lucky I am having this condition that allows me to have all these beneficial schemes!
I thought you were just putting a positive slant on things. Sorry your having a bad day freckles. If it’s any comfort I’m having one too and failing miserably to cheer myself up. Never mind, soon be bedtime LOL Xx
No don’t delete it Freckles. lt is always good to look at the positive things in life. We all understand the irony. When l get the 'over 70’s cycle club go wizzing past me - a flash of hi-viz lycra - and one smart aleck - shouts out to me on my scooter - ‘‘Thats a good way to walk your dogs’’ or ‘‘that’s cheating’’- l shout back - ‘‘Let me knee-cap you - then you can get one’’. But they are always over the hill by then.
At least you have pointed out some of the ‘freebees’. We could do with a list- lets hope someone comes up with some more!!!
nice to hear someone getting the correct benefit after a long list of people being treated badly. Don’t feel bad about it, you’ve paid in for long enough, and Im sure you would give it up tomorrow in return for good health.
Dont fall for the media’s demonising of disabled people.
I applied for a discretionary blue badge and got it, now I have a stash of stickers to leave on the windows of black hothatches that park in disabled bays so they don’t get their designer gear wet when they run into the shop.
I went for an MRI the other daty and shouted at a nurse for parking in the bays without a blue badge… felt good until I got into the hospital… and there they were!!!
Nurses should know better than to park in disabled people’s parking spaces!
Freckles, I’m glad you’ve discovered plus one cards and other ways of making getting out and enjoying oneself a little easier - and as I didn’t know such things existed, thank you for the information! I hope you had a good time at your cousin’s wedding party.
well went to my cousins wedding party. Phew shattered today even though I was in bed before ten o’clock! Clearly not as young as I used to be!
Was lovely to see all my extended family, and I needn’t have felt at all conscious. The room felt full as we walked in but a chair seemingly appeared from nowhere for me.
Had a gret time. Note to self- stop worrying about silly things!!
yes take the p@@s, it keeps us sain , i regularly joke about my condition if i didn’t i would go into a deep dark hole, they say laughter is the best medicine, and yes it is.
Also i will admite it comes in useful when you dont want to be in company of folk, hubby’s friend comes to mind, i have to go to a wedding at the end of June if this ejit starts playing up instead of moaning about it to hubby will say i am getting tired , i go home and open a nice bottle of wine and the ejit doesn’t realise i dont want to be in hus company and hubby doesn’t say anything , well it has to have it’s uses
