How are we all doing in run up to Xmas?

Oh Pauline and Mrs J. Horrid pre Christmas stress!!!

Pauline can’t believe you drove all that way to have a row with your boyfriend. Next time you want to drive for an hour, I could think of better things to do when you got there. LOL. Seriously I hope you made it up with him (IF he’s worth it of course).

Mrs J I know what you mean. That is so typical of a man!!! If it was up to men (well most of them) cards would never be sent, presents wouldn’t be wrapped, tree would never be decorated, turkey dinner would never get cooked! Women DO Christmas!

I’m watching Christmas Top of the Pops… and guess what… Fairytale in New York!!!

Can I face another mince pie? Or a home-made chocolate brownie? (Made by my 87 year old mother and no, hasn’t got that ‘special’ ingredient).

Love to all,

Pat xx

Ha ha ha.

Pat, in my earlier days it’s true. I never did cards or trees stc but I was at the sharp end. I socialised and partied, being a role model for those unsure about the celebratory rituals. Tough work but someone had to do it.

Then I met my wife. The tree looks gorgeous.

Ahem, ahem Pat! Careful…

May I just say that in this house, I used to write the cards, do the Christmas food shop, wrap the presents (I’m far better at it), share the cooking 50/50 whilst consuming my share of the first bottle of wine or two, and do all the washing up. We’d walk around the village every Christmas Eve to deliver the local cards (enjoying the odd glass and mince pie on the way). We’d put up the decorations together.

Of course it’s different now, and this nauseatingly cosy idyll has been shattered by our friend MS. We have slimmed down our whole operation to suit my lack of energy and appetite, and to avoid Ruth having to do too much, especially this year with the house still topsy turvy from building works. No tree, no large complicated meal.

But this year I still wrote the bulk of the cards and did much of the wrapping.

So there!

Oh Kev you must be a new man.

My hubby does try but I’m afraid there would be no Xmas if it was left up to him. Can’t wrap, won’t wrap. Won’t write out cards.

Cant cook, won’t cook.

I love the way he soaks up the thanks for presents even though he has no clue what’s in them.

i love how he needs praise for everything he does even though I have done the same for years and it was just taken for granted.

Still love the bones of him.

I’ve not had a mince pie yet and I love them! Need to buy some, forgot to get Christmas pud, cooking foil & something else but can’t remember what right now!!

Have an early Christmas present, a lovely bruise on my bum, fell backwards onto kitchen cupboard handle yesterday, went flying into the laptop table tonight which fell onto the sofa and I landed on top, cup of tea splashed everywhere, I’ll see if I have another present tomorrow on the top of my leg and stomach.

No dining table for Xmas dinner this year its been replaced with my bed, there will be 6 of us sat on the sofa, should have bought us all Christmas trays, I think I’ll ask the girls to shop for some tomorrow.

I spoke to my MS nurse 10 days ago on the advise of g.p as my mobility has so declined, received a voicemail asking me to ring in the morning as consultant can see me tomorrow(oops its today) afternoon!!! Maybe he wants to finish for the holiday’s on a laugh, or probably wants to share his choccies with me, or he could have a very large black Russian waiting for me ‘I mean the drink by the way’.

My daughters have

bought me a Bichon Frise yes a she puppy dog, I already have 2 Yorkies,I’m now the mad old dog lady, oh well! She is absolutely beautiful but i wouldn’t be able to look after any of the dogs if I was on my own, I think this means there’s no plans for my adult kids moving out… Oh no!

Have a pain free, relaxing, joyous Christmas time everyone xxx

Another chocolate or another mince pie… that is the question… Pat xxx

Oooops,I’m running late! Merry Christmas to all! And congrats Jan

I have been having a manic time, we quite the awful contract that was sucking the life out of us and started a new one, so new everything to learn. On the plus side, one of the security guards recognised Rob when he did his test run to the office so we now get to park in one of the disabled spots at the front of the office. Usually, he drops me at the front door and goes off to park, I’m not staff after all so don’t even expect parking normally! Ah, anyway, all ok here, just a little tired but had to stop by to say hello. Hope you’re all well (as can be expected) and ready for Christmas
