Hotels in Egypt.

Hi, I’ve not posted for a while.

We are looking to go to Egypt in November and I wondered if anyone knew of any hotels that were good for wheelchairs?

We’d like to go to Sharm el Sheik, all inclusive.

I don’t have to use my wheelchair all the time, just for longer distances, but my walking is quite bad.

The more on the flat, the better.

Thanks

Annie

Dont think you’ll find too much of a problem with the hotels (presumably you will be looking at 4 star) and I expect staff will fall over themselves to be helpful. Egyptian pavements can present some problems - very high kerbstones.

We went to sharm in January and have booked again. We stayed at iberotel palace (through Thompson). I remember lots of ramps and half the rooms are groundfloor. Hotel, food and staff were excellent. So clean too! If you speak to Thompson they’ll be able to tell you if it’s totally wheelchair accessible. We’ve booked aggain for January 2013 :-D:-D:-D

Thank you both for your help!

I usually get out of the wheelchair if the kerbs are high, so that will be ok.

We looked at Iberotel Palace but they don’t fly on the day we want to go.

I have had recommendations for Sultan Gardens so I think we’ll book there.

Thanks again.

We went to club magic life (Thompson premier) which is so fab its untrue, but while there were ramps, rooms on the ground floor and bathrooms that were huge with walk in showers,I did seem to notice a couple with a wheelchair had to go the long way round to get to places via the ramps.

If you can manage a couple of steps though it is out of this world. Truely all inclusive even in the al a carte, and they dont even let you pour your own wine!!! The food is un believeable, snorkelling breathtaking and as you can imagine we have been twice.

My only word of advice is the airport doesnt seem to be able to cope with the huge numbers of people that are now going. We had to queue for an hour to check in and that nearly finished me off,so I would advise going for a wheelchair check in. On Thompson though with their new planes that meant you couldnt have an extra leg room seat.

I wish you well in your search.
