Hot weather

is it true that hot weather affects/worsens MS symptoms - my mobility has worsened quite a bit since 2nd week of holiday and returning home to this hot weather too?

It definitely does mine. I am longing for autumn to arrive !!

Not everyone, but it is quite a common symptom.

It’s true for a lot of people, yes. The theory is that nerve signals travel more slowly at higher temperatures, so if you have a condition that means nerve transmission is already dodgy, the extra delay caused by heat can make symptoms more noticeable.

So far, I’ve not noticed it much, apart from being generally more tired - which people without MS are in the heat, too. But even though it doesn’t happen for everyone, it’s a recognized thing.
