Hi there, I'm old timer but would like to chat

Hey everybody peeps

I’m an old timer who’s had ms for at least 25 years.

I haven’t been on here for a while and am grateful to have a friend in Tasmania who I’ve been communicating with for at least 10 years and who I met on this forum.
I’ve been taking Amitriptyline and Gabapentin for around 15 years and I’d like to ask if anyone knows which drug is the most harmful. I know that Gabapentin can give an increased appetite. Thanks for any information :sparkling_heart: Wendy x

No personal experience, but this link is from the professor of neurology at Barts.

Hello from another old-timer, Wendy. Although I think you were here before I was.

From another old timer here, well it’s been a long time since I’ve seen your name pop up, you were on here a lot when I was new to the forum, I’ve had nrspms for nearly 19yrs, you always like to have a good chat. So I’ve only ever taken Gabapentin, did for about 15yrs then came away from it as I was no longer getting any benefit, I did but weight on when taking it, after discussions with my GP, Neuro and MS nurse I decided Amitriptyline wasn’t for me. Apart from taking Baclofen for spasms and stiffness I look after the ms myself, hot or cold pads, mindfulness and meditation, but these things aren’t for everyone.
Good luck to you Wendy, take care and chin up.

Blimey, it’s good to see some familiar names. I’ve not been on the site for a while since it changed and the community changed as well. Hope you are all doing as well as possible.
Mick
