Hemiplegic migraine or ms

Hello everyone

I’m not really sure where to start, about two months ago I had experienced the worst migraine episode I had ever had in my life. I have been having migraines ever since I was a child and knew how to manage them.

But on this occasion I lost my eyesight for about 8 hours. I got my eyes tested and went to the doctor and they put it down to it being caused by left over congestion from where I had Covid two weeks prior to the migraine.

ever since this attack I’ve noticed I’ve been progressively feeling more and more unwell. I went back to the doctors and they did a blood test and it turns out I’m very vitamin D deficient (which I am now aware is a possible indicator of ms)

I was given a high does course to take for seven weeks. But now I get to what has caused me to make this post out of desperation.

last Thursday I developed a strange numb tingling patch on the right side of my scalp. The only way I can describe it is that it feels like is holding my head with a large hand and then pushing their thumb into my scalp. This accompanied by various tingling and pins and needles that move around my face and down into my right arm.

I made a private gp appointment to obtain a referral letter as I’m planning on getting a private mri done asap as I know something is not right.

I’m feeling a little lost at the moment as I’m unsure what is the correct path to take in all the confusion and worry.

My first attack I had they said it was ms and hemiplegic migraine, because of the intense pain I had in my head. But it turned out to be Trigeminal Neuralgia, but it also turned out that this neurologist specialised in hemiplegic migraines as well as ms. But from what I’ve heard about them, they can cause temporary symptoms sometimes lasting a few days, and they’re diagnosed by the neurologist. I hope you get to the bottom of what’s going on, and you’re well within your rights to obtain a second opinion on what’s going on.
