Help

Hi, I just wanted to ask does anyone experience this…from time to time I suffer with periods of vomiting and loosing control of my bowels, all this when breaking out in cold sweats, I’ve had this on and off over a good period of having MS and before dx’d, there’s no reason for it happening, it just comes over me, my stomach goes into spasm and starts convulsing as I’m being sick, horrible feeling, it generally happens over night when I’m in bed, actually wakes me up, although I have had it during the day too, a couple of times when on holiday, not nice when everyone is looking at you asking if you’re ok, anyway it happened again last night, horrible, 1st time in 2yrs. My ms nurse once told my hubby this happened when my MS was active, just wondered if anyone else gets it ?

Definitely have very similar issues to this, not at night though, but during the day, and only since being diagnosed with the MS.

Currently I take Betahistine, which helps.

Apparently many people with MS get nausea/vertigo symptoms.

Ah thanks jactac, good to know its not just me.

I’m having a pretty bad bout of this right now, and coincidently my MS is fairly active as well.

Well that rings true, I wonder why it effects us like this, x

Interesting - just this evening I was talking with a friend about how I occasionally have a ‘funny turn’, where I suddenly feel rough, get a cold sweat and loose bowels, for no obvious reason at all. I wondered if maybe it was caused by a panic attack, or something else. It’s a bit of a relief to know there’s others of us!

Dan

it’s the very pits.

the worst thing for me is that my wayward legs can be behaving, then i get safely ensconced on the loo, then the cold sweats begin.

ok i evacuate my bowels so job done.

however my legs have gone to jelly so just standing up is difficult and scary (i call it having a scary sh*t).

anyway we are definitely not alone!

Thanks for all your replies, I honestly thought it was just me…I normally get it bad over autumn/winter, not at this time of year and for me its always both, bowel and sickness, one time it happened and it went everywhere, my husband who’s my carer was amazing, didn’t faze him at all, what a horrible condition we have.
