Hi all, I have SP MS and for the past few months I have been having problems with my legs i.e. when I stand up my legs shake to the point I cannot start to walk until they have stopped, it also happens if I bend down. I have never had this problem before, I did mention it to the MS Nurse when I saw her last month but she never said anything about it and was only interested in what meds I am taking [she"s a new ms nurse] so I thought I would ask you guys if you have any ideas what could be causing. Thanks everyone and try and enjoy Christmas xx
have you seen a neuro physiotherapist?
‘Evening ashbut0,
Hope you and all the MS sufferers are alright to the best possible.
From what you have explained, it sounds like intentional tremors, which is mostly related to a walnut sized part of brain “cerebellum “. It is quite easily affected in conditions like MS, and causes gait, balance issues and intentional tremors.
Maybe you could glance a look at MS Society Tremors Booklet.
Also, if the MS Nurse is new, I wonder if you could get medical advice from a competent GP , because the best diagnosis of the root cause of the tremors and discuss appropriate neuro-physio therapist input, plus minus medicinal drug options, as per appropriate for your case.
Hope it helps.
Merry Christmas to you and all the MSers around
