Hello

Good evening everybody,

I’ve just been signed off work for a month and was wondering if anyone could offer advice on keeping my old noggin ticking over. I’ve had RRMS for 20+ years but after a particularly bad 2016, it would appear (according to specialist) that I may unfortunately be ‘progressing’ onto the next stage.

My work has been absolutely fantastic with my situation but it’s unbelievably frustrating that I’m unable to do the things that I used to do.

Any advice on how to spend my time wisely would be greatly appreciated (my walking isn’t too great now but I can still amble around)

Cheers

Alan

Hi Alan,

I joined a Tai Chi club, which is a mental discipline just as much as it physical. It also has a social element. How about a game of scrabble? What are your preferences?

John

I prefer puzzle games. However, the brain fog can make games like that difficult. I may have a search for a local tai chi class or something similar . Cheers John

Have you got a garden I find time spent in my small garden helps keep me moving gives me an intrest and keeps the mind active a little at a time plenty rest it’s quite Bonnie in the summer also have a greenhouse witch grows tomatos etc so all being well we have nice fresh salad veggies from July to November .

Hi Alan I volunteer in a charity shop for a few hours (charity is a hospice) and I would recommend this as a good way to spend time. You meet new people (some interesting characters) new skills and it’s all at your pace no pressure! I love it and all wee

Ha ! Tremors made me post sorry. As I was saying … All week at my paid job I look for ward to my few hours at the shop. It’s my hobby really. My only other hobbies are fishing with my other half which we love - again a great way to pass a few hours. Or I colour really intricate patterns in adult colouring books this is so relaxing. Final suggestion is reading, my passion, currently I am reading the count of monte cristo and this is responsible for me loosing many an hour !! All the best Flutterby x

Also can I just say this lack of paragraphs because I am posting from my phone is making my teeth itch !!! Sorry to those who struggle with large bodies of text
