I hope you’ve all had a lovely Christmas, and have chance to rest and recover.

well i can honestly say this was the worst christmas of my life, i started being really ill 1am christmas morning, sore throat, burning up with a temp of 40.2, and being sick, all day i was sort of semi conscious, my partner rang 111 xmas night because my temp wouldnt go down all day and night,by the time they rang back at 10pm my temp had started to come down a bit.
couldnt sleep at all again, last night and this morning still being sick and cant stand up,needless to say i feel pants.
Hope you all had a much better christmas than me, i didnt get to see my little grandaughter once .
J x
Oh Bless J. I hope you feel better soon, maybe you can have a belated Christmas at New Year and get loads of cuddles then. Take care, lots of paracetamol and rest for now and hopefully in a day or two you’ll want to return to the land of the living.
Cath xx
Merry Christmas Pat and all. I had a lovely stress free day, mainly because we dined all dined out.
Sorry you’re not feeling too good mrsJ hope you pick up soon.
Jan x
Thanks Cath and Jan, i ended up having quinsies, had it before 20 yr ago and ended up on a drip in hospital, i knew it was that it makes you feel really, really ill,i had some penicillin tablets left from a while ago, so took them at first sign of the pain left side of my throat, and i think by catching it early i avoided hospital, feel a bit better today thank goodness.
J x
Ouch J, I feel for you! I’ve only ever had that once and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I lost 10kg in a week at a time I could ill afford it, now I’d welcome only that part of the illness. I hope the antibiotics have done the job and you’re back to yourself soon. Do you find that any infection exacerbates your ms symptoms? I don’t suppose it’ll help either way though. Rest up and please let us know how you get on.
Take care
Cath xx
I am in middle of a relapse too, so you can imagine how bad my ms is, i had tonsilitis 10 weeks ago and this relapse is a result of that, as i always relapse 6 weeks after an infection,so looks like another relapse in another 6 weeks, i do hope not, dont think i can face another one,i really dont.I think its with all the stress all at once, my grandaughters having tests for autism, my partners had a hip relacement on the 16th dec and christmas too lol
J x
Good God J no wonder this has developed into a quinsy. Your poor body is taking a hammering and the time of year doesn’t help at all. I hope you’ve got chance to put your feet up.
Cath x
lol you couldnt make it up,you really couldnt, i am in bed, too ill to get up much,my poor other half is doing what he can,i am not eating much, and i can get up to make a drink for myself,we are managing ok between us though.
J x
MrsJ,
Quinsy sounds awful and I hope it passes very soon. I had not heard of it before and seems quite gruesome when I looked it up.
You are certainly in the wars and I just hope that you are able to rest as much as you can, what with your husband trying to recover from his hip replacement. Sometimes everything happens at once like some tsunami.
Best wishes
Alun
Hi Alun.thanks so much for your reply,it is really really awful it makes you feel weaker than the flu,i dont do things by halves whatever i do lol.Tsunami is what it feels like.
i cant get up out of bed much can only get up to go to the bathroom, and i shake all the time just doing that
i was semi conscious most of xmas day, hate to think how bad i would have been if i didnt already have some penicillin in the house,i would have ended up being unable to swallow and on a drip.Thankfully the infections a bit better now,and my temperature is near normal now. This is one xmas i would like to forget for all sorts of reasons.

Happy new year to you all take care regards Jan xx
Happy New year to you Jan and everyone else here. Let’s hope the new year brings us slow progression and ample rest time.
