Had my spine MRI

Hi all

I had my spine MRI yesterday.

I was told it would take 1 hour and 15 mins but it ended up only taking 45 mins. Not sure if I can read anything into that?

I was first told it would take 45 mins but because the protocol in Leicestershire is 1.15 mins it will take that time.

I found it ok in the machine, no music this time though.
just listened to the noises.

I asked them to update me on the time left but I could not hear a word they were saying.

I don’t know, but my guess is that they allow time for having to take extra pictures when the radiographer is having a bad day. I was once told off very testily for swallowing during an MRI, and they had to re-do some images, which the radiographer grumpily conceded were just about good enough despite what he clearly saw as my wilful non-cooperation.

It sounds as though yours (in contrast) all went smoothly.

thank you, I dont think I moved.

The time also went very quick in there.

Yes, some people can stay very still, some less so - it can make a big difference in the time it takes! I’ve always managed to keep very still, though last time was difficult because they were in such a rush that they didn’t wait for me to get into a comfortable position, and started the scan and I had to stay in that position the full time.

when I had my first Mri. Brain mri.

They gave me the presser thing but I forget to lay my arm down.
So I had my arm up for the session, glad that scan was much quicker
