I’m currently taking Gilenya every third day. My consultant wants to stop this and give me two infusions of Rituximab. I can’t find anything about it being used for MS, it seems to be mainly a cancer drug. Has anyone had it?
I am pretty sure Rituximab isn’t used for MS in the UK, so might not get any replies.
Thanks for this. I’ve done extensive searching now and you’re absolutely right. I’m going to speak to my MS nurse tomorrow.

Hopefully, you have already sorted the matter out, but this is from the professor of neurology at Barts and might be of interest.
" Rituximab is off-patent and is relatively cheap, which explains why it is one of the drugs on the MS-Selfie off-label essential DMT list for treating MS in resource-poor environments. It is also worth noting that rituximab is one of three DMTs added to the WHO List of Essential Medicines to treat MS.
