Hello gang Just started taking gabapentin, just would like to hear wot everyone thinks?? Just hope it will ease the pain in my legs… Ty
I haven’t started it yet, it is one of the options my GP has offered but not until i have stopped breastfeeding. my friend is on it and she is 80% better.
I’m on1500 mgs per day and it helps with my nerve pain, pins and needles, and jerks. I hope it works for you.
Thank you, I’m hoping that it helps…twitching, spasms and pain get so hard to deal with after a period of time…
I’m only on amitriptyline for the jerking and spasms in my legs and arms at night. So far is doing the trick, but been offered it for when amitriptyline doesn’t work anymore. I hope it works for you! xx
I have been holding off on meds, as symptoms come and go, but I must admit it can be quite bad at times, so thinking of asking for some
Works for me.
But, I am on 2700mg per day.Thye two big tricks are taking just enough to keep the pain in check, and trying to space the doses out to 8 hours apart. If I take the evening one early, the next morning my legs wil tell me when the next dose will soon be due.

I started taking it 4 weeks ago on the lowest dose and it’s definitely eased the discomfort in my legs. I tried amitriptyline but didn’t work for me. I hope it works for you
I am on a low dose and it was working for me but me being me felt better all symptons disappeared and I started to do everything I always used to do rushing around etc and now I am back to square one and trying desperatly not to increase my dose as I really do not want to. So my advice to you is if you find it works for you please remember to rest as you always have been so you do not burn out like I have. Good luck and I hope it works for you. xxx
Been reading this with interest, currently awaiting DX but do suffer legs & arms pain, not taking anything but think this May help me. Would I be able to get it if currently un diagnosed Thanks Gray
I was given it in hospital before the neurologist even saw me.
Hi Gray, I’m also undiagnosed but GP suggested Gabapentin. It might be worth asking.
Thanks will give her a try Gray xx
Thank you all for the feedback!! Good luck to you all that have any pain/spasm etc, not nice company, but with a big of help from meds and the great support on here, we will master it!!! MS will NOT win xx
Gabapentin has really helped my nasty restless legs. Before gabapentin life was awful due to the side effects of Mirapex (for 10 years). In any case, I would have given gabapentin a higher score, but it is only half the reason I now sleep through the night. I have suffered from the pain of arthritis and disc degeneration in my lower back and neck. I also have fibromyalgia. As if that wasn’t enough, I have been recently diagnosed with Bi-polar disorder. This medication has been great for me. I’ve only been on it for 4 days and already my pain has been greatly reduced. I haven’t had to take any Percocet which is great. I have had to take a couple Tylenol. It has also really helped reduce my anxiety and depression. I really hope it keeps working. I take 300 mg about 1 PM and two 300 mg capsules at night. Side effects are minimal. I’m still a bit drowsy in the morning but it’s nothing a good cup of coffee won’t cure. It has been a great medication for me. I started taking it about 2 months ago, and it has really helped with my legs Gray
I’ve been taking 300mg per day for about 10 days, luckily no side effects but it’s not helped me much either. The tingling and jolts have eased off a bit but the aches and spasticity have actually got worse (shoulders, hip, heels, back, calfs etc.) - particularly morning and night.
I’m going back to docs, but I hope it helps you!

P.S Undiagnosed and no MRI recommended by Neuro, so doc is treating symptoms for now. You can have this without any diagnosis
