Friday 13th afternoon

Hi there! Just thought I`d let you know what happened when our daughter and husband came yesterday.

They arrived looking normal and began the small talk.

I looked right at them both and said;

Right. Come on. Whats going on?`

HE began with, `Well me and Lindsay have decided to separate…blah blah blah!

He said he was getting a place to rent. Lins said they were going to share custody of the girls…ie a week with her and a week with him! Bear in mind the little one is just 3. Older one is 10 next week.¬Happy Birthday, eh!

I asked how could they afford to keep 2 houses going. They said theyd worked it out and they can. He works 3 days a week in a call centre!!!!!!!!!Yeh, they get fantastic wages in those places, dont they?

I asked if it was a trial separation. They said no. I asked him this;

Can you cook, clean, wash and iron. bathe the kids, read em a bedtime story, play with them, take them out, plus of course school and nursery.he replied,Of course I can. its easy!

Huh…the arrogance of the jerk! My hubby started to get irritated and I was watching him. He said, Well you know the girls will have to be your no 1 priority, dont you, when your mates call to go out for a drink or to watch a football game`.

He said ¬The girls always were my no 1 priority`. Huh, yeh, we saw evidence of that…NOT!

Anyway, that`s how it went. I shook from head to foot the whole time.

I give it 2 weeks to fail. Hell be on the phone to Lins...........How do I set the cooker? Emily wont stop crying. I dont have a clean shirt for tomorrow` etc etc etc.

We`ll see, eh?

Dear Poll,

I am sorry to read of your bad news with the family. I just hope that for your sanity as well as that of the little people, that it does all pan out as well as ‘he’ thinks it will. He sounds a bit naive to me. But I just hope that things go far better than you ever thought they would! Good luck.

Best wishes,

Moira

Thanks Moira. Yeh, he`s living in cloud cuckoo land, I reckon.

Hi Poll,

Sorry to say but I think he is living in cloud cuckoo land and very soon is going to come down to earth with a huge bump. I just hope it does not have an effect on the little ones or your daughter, but it is obviously going to be hard for all of them.

Is it not a possibility that your daughter and the girls could move back closer to you? Their Dad would still be able to see them, but not every other week, perhaps weekends.

I am sure that you could well do without all this added worry Poll, and I know it is easier said than done, but please try not to worry too much, it will only make your problems worse.

Thinking of you, take care

Hi Pam, thanks for lovely care and support, as always.

Yes, he will have a rude awakening, I`m sure.

My first thought (and hubbys too) is that we want Linds and the girls to move here. I did ask and she said no........probably due to the split custody thing. But if it goes belly up (and it will), then maybe she will want to live back in lovely Yorkshire....wi proper folk!

Oh, he made a comment about Lins saying t at the start of words in the yorkshire way. we quickly jumped in saying, Well she is from yorkshire and THATS how we talk!

Hi Poll I don’t think he will find it easy at all. I think he’s in for a shock. I can just see that Lins will bear the brunt of the problems that will follow. I do hope not for her sake but he does seem to be living on another planet. Fingers crossed for Lins and the girls. Try not to worry too much as it won’t do you any good. Wishing you all well, Teresa xx

Hi Poll, again dont really know what to say, other than I am thinking about you and hang in there. Cheryl:-)

Hi Pollx,

This man is living in cloud cooky lad,and i am sure he will regret it,but what happens when he does.

Will your daughter take him back as you dont metion her mutch.

Nothing i can do or say will make it right, but i hope for your sake that it happens soon.

Keep your chin up.

Good luck with the PALS thing if you go for it.

Take Care.

Chris.

Ps how is your other half doing with the cigs if he did not crack yesterday he is a better man than me.

Hi chris, ta for your reply.

daughter (lindsay) is a lovely lass. Okay, I may be biased, but she truly is a lovely mother, wife, daughter. Shes very caring, thoughtful and a brainy blonde too! She got 12 GCSEs and 3 A levels and now she is a PA to 3 paediatricians… Dunno whether she`ll take him back…doubtful.

My hubby is smoking again. he has 3 or 4 a day…in the garage/gartden. he says he`ll never bring them into the house again…as he hated decorating!
