Can anyone tell me if it is common for people with MS to have low folate, B12 and / Vit D? Has there been any research done into this and what can one do to help? Many thanks Heather
Hi Heather,
Lots of research; see http://www.msrc.co.uk/index.cfm/fuseaction/show/pageid/772 and if you put VITAMIN in the search bar at the top it will give pages about vitamin D.
George
Thanks George, will have a look. Best wishes Heather
Yes Heather,
lt seems we with MS - are deficient in all of these - and also we do need a much higher level then the NHS guidelines have been using… Our GP’s are still working on levels agreed over 50yrs ago.
You only have to google Vitamin d3 deficiency MS -----------and Vit B12 deficiency MS or Could it be B12 - An Epidemic of Misdiagnosis.
We had a very interesting thread on B12 - in July/Aug on this forum from two people who really knew all about the subject.
