First positive appointment for months

Hi Everyone,

I’ve had a rough few months recently but things are starting to look up finally, having first Tysabri infuson on Thursday so wish me luck for that because pretty freaked out about it to be honest.

It seems to have been all doom and gloom at my recent appointments but finally had a good one…my new Neuro referred me for some rehab, just had my appointment with the Consultant and it was great- He’s getting me some physiotherapy, an incontinence nurse, a neuro-psychologist and an occupational therapist! Also hes going to write me a letter to support appilcation for a blue badge and when I told him that I’d just been turned down for PIP he was quite angry, he said they are turning people down because they simply don’t understand the condition, he told me to wait a short while, reapply and he will write me a letter for them too!!

My head was reeling when I came out of the appointment as you can imagine, especially as I normally leave appointments a bit gloomy.

Dr Riaz I salute you!!

Just wanted to share some good news for a change…take care and look after yourselves.

Becky Had my first tysabri infusion 2 weeks ago, trust me it’s an anti climax nothing to it. Best of luck Gray x

Wow Becky! Yeh, what a great result.

Hopefully life will improve now.

What fantastic news, it’s great that your neuro is so helpful. Out of curiosity what is a neuro-psychologist?

Hi, I didn’t explain that very well…The Dr who has arranged all this is the Rehab Consultant not the Neuro.

I was told that a neuro-psychologist is one who specialises in people who have neuro conditions, they are trained in the anatomy and phyisology of the nervous system. The consultant said that I need some talking therapy, but it’ll be a long wait apparently the waiting lists are huge…but don’t mind waiting when you know something is in the pipeline.

Gray I really hope you’re right!!

Thanks for the replies
