Feels like i've been nettled!

Hello Everyone Does anyone get feelings in the ends of their fingers that prickle - a bit like when you have been nettled in the garden or whatever? I have got this and when I touch things it prickles like mad in my index finger and thumb on right hand…mor of an annoyance than painful. I have been seeing neuro’s since eye exam in 2011 - told I have had several episodes of optic neuritis. Ongoing sight problems. Also cannot wipe my bottom after toilet as can’t reach behind - really hurts my arms. I can go ten days without a bowel movement unless I take Bisacodyl which is prescribed for me but then if I take it at night I go about three to four times the next day. I end up using the loo then getnning on my shower seat and having a shower. I can not ask my husband to do this for me - I just can’t. He would and has offered - but I just couldn’t stand it. Urine probs are easier to handle just wera inco pads and try to wee every two hours when at home as suggested by inco nurse. Two consultants have said I have MS - two others in Sheffield are not sure…they do a joint clinic for neuro and optical - I just think it is all a bit of a hamster wheel really. Seems since I got referred originally in 2011 I have been back and forth to appointments without any real headway being made in terms of either treatment - if there is anything - or diagnosis. I go to bed at night and am unable to lie on my arms so have to sleep on tummy or back - arm muscles at top hurt so much and I can not manage to turm over without help as my arms are either numb or painful.Do any of these things sound familiar to anyone? I also have trouble walking - feel unsteady and get dizzy -sway about a lot - GP calls it ataxia. AM bit fed up today so please excuse all the symptom listing - I can also sleep and sleep and then some more. Just wish someone would say yes it is MS or no it isn’t and we think it is something else then I can get on with my life. Am considering stopping all future hospital appointments as they really do seem so very pointless. Thanks for listening! Mary

Hello Mary, Have you had a MRI scan because if you have they could say you have or have not got MS? Of course there are other tests to under go but going backwards and forwards between clinics don’t seem to be doing any good. You need a proper Dx, so I would ask too have a MRI and go from there. Hope this helps. Janet x
