Hi everyone. Just looking for a bit of support/advice/anything really!
I have had a bit of a rough year, eventually diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Then I started to have an awful itch/crawling feeling in my scalp on the left side which then went numb too. It was unbearable and like crawling under my skin I could never get to the itch to get relief. I ended up at the doctors and they gave me amitriptyline until they awaited a referral. Medication didn’t touch it but luckily the doctor phoned back to say Rheumatology didn’t want to know but that Neurology wanted me to have an MRI. Skip forward and they found a single inflammatory lesion at C1, I seen the Neurologist and he explained that this was what was causing my itch but he wasn’t sure what had caused the lesion. Sent for a lumbar puncture and bloods. Again skip forward 4 months and I have just seen the Neurologist again and he explained that my immune system is misbehaving but he doesn’t know why, I have inflammation showing in my spinal fluid, but he doesn’t know why and that he wants a repeat MRI and to see me again after that. I asked why the lesion had just appeared and he said “why does anything happen to anyone, why do people have allergies”. I am not diagnosed with anything yet but just looking to see if anyone has had a similar experience as I feel like I am going mad with random little irks around my body and no explanation as to why.
