Fatigue treatments??

Hello all,

I have looked at previous posts by others but am unable to find the answers I was hoping for. Like many of us, I suffer quite badly with fatigue - I can literally be on the move at work and if I sit down for too long BANG the fatigue kicks in!

It’s can be quite annoying when at home of an evening too when I’m trying to spend time with the family that it just kicks in! The wife is forever telling me to wake up as she doesn’t seem to understand that I am not falling asleep deliberately.

Are there any supplements which anyone has tried and can recommend to help battle fatigue please?

Thanking you all in advance for any advice and suggestions.

I guess it depends on what is causing the fatigue. My fatigue is mostly due to muscle deconditioning and find exercise helps, but obviously not the whole answer.

This study suggests the drugs prescribed are just a placebo. It might be worth trying B12 to see if it helps.

As @whammel says, B12 is supposed to help. Making sure you drink enough water might be useful, along with keeping cool. Some say that Vitamin C and zinc is helpful.

Unfortunately, I don’t think there is any magic cure

I was prescribed Amantadine for my fatigue, but I didn’t get on with it… ended up a sleepless mess, lucky if I got 3 hours sleep a night. Not great when you’re working and have to be slightly ‘with it’ the next day! I’m sure it does some good for some people, but as usual with this Malarkey, it’s just a case of try it and see.

I don’t know if that’s the best option but you can try magnesium or vit B12. But to be more sure you can go to a doctor that has more information on It and knows what you really have.

Back in the day, I found modafinil very helpful. Now I no longer have to work for a living, I can just slow down to my own pace and don’t take the pep pills any more, but I’m glad they were there when I needed them.
