For a long time iv experienced alot of fatigue and now after iv been active or done a simple task i feel like i need to sleep straight away and my eyes become very heavy and close. I then have a short rest and my eyes feel alot better but at the time all i can do is rest.
Does anyone else have this which is in addition to feeling fatigued most of the time.
Hi, as you may know, I dont have MS, but a similar condition and one of it`s symptoms is fatigue.
I tend to go on too long on one activity, like sewing or yesterday…wrapping christmas presents and then I feel like I just want to flop on the bed and shut my eyes for half an hour. I am taking longer and longer to recover…yes, fatigue is a big issue for me, like it is for most MSers.
All we can do is pace ourselves and dont try to do too much at once…I should heed that advice more myself!!!
It’s insane isn’t it? Sometimes I think the whole world’s gone crazy. Even buying Christmas presents seems doolally to me. At any time, but in early November? Sheer lunacy.
I get that to much activity and just have to stop and close my eyes, i have now got a routine i can push myself to limits in the week for work and i will use the weekends to catch up, saturday to sunday sleep average 10 hours, I was getting told i’m lay at home because i would have to stop, and going into town shopping gets hard sometimes walking, i tire easy then my feet drag,
My biggest problem is the fatigue but am coping by pacing my self each day the mornings are the worst, by the time I’ve washed and dressed etc I then have to rest until after I’ve eaten lunch, it seems for me as the day wears on I get less fatigued the more meals I eat or snacks the better I feel. Certain things leave me feeling worse like when the shopping was delivered earlier than normal this week, their mistake not mine, my delivery time was 10am-11am, they sent me a text to say it would be early, but if it wasn’t convenient I could stay at my original booked time, however there wasn’t a facility to reply , stupid really!!I had just finished dressing when they turned up, which made me rush, made me stressed, then when I explained to driver about the time mix up he said he knows my time slot was 10-11 am but he has to arrive at 9.17, I said but my time slot is 10-11 so he shouldn’t arrive until the earliest at 10 and latest 11. He said I can’t do that! Omg what are they like. By the time I put the shopping away I was really fatigued and stressed and yes I could have just closed my eyes for 10 minutes or so, that put me out for the whole day!
Thanks everyone for your replies. I guess its about listening to our bodies. If we need to rest then we should do just that. I agree with Ann that that things happen in the day that causes put us under further stress and result in additional fatigue. I am unable to bounce back like i used to and i need to keep telling myself that.
