well i had the first visit from the ms nurse on monday, i dont know what i was expecting, but he was great, loads of questions, he gave me alot of information, explained ms with drawing pictures for me which helped alot, hes reffering me to the incontinence clinic, to a physiotherapist, a occupational health person, hes getting someone to come round the flat to see what adaptations i need to be put in to help me, hes sending me appointments for a bladder scan and another mri scan, WOW, i just started crying, i couldnt help it, i told him its just a major relief being able to see someone who can say yes i can help you and yes we will help you, instead of being bounced around and told yes we can help but we wont because you dont look that bad, he also said to help me get out more he can organise someone to take me to a ms group and home again to help me get used to being round alot of people or to go swimming to help my legs and if i get scared i can say i need to go and thats it they will take me home again, when i was telling him i was having alot of accidents, he never made me feel like i was stupid or it was a embarrasing thing to talk about and put my mind at ease about it. all i can say is from the first visit he was great, friendly to talk to, let me take my time trying to say things, i never felt like he was in a rush to go or anything, absolutley brilliant
Vicki It’s so lovely to read that you are getting the help you need I really do hope you get some good from it. Sue x
me too thankyou, i think this is a upside to having ms, is people that can help and make things better for you instead of people trying to take the help from you
Your nurse sounds great. I;m glad you had a good appointment.
When i have a problem with my ms i don’t bother with my gp any more. I ring straight through to my ms nurse. She is better than the gp and neuro in my opinion. She has great knowledge.
Hope you get the help you need soon for your symptoms/problems.
best wishes

thankyou, i start my first day of iv steroids at hospital in the morning, never had them before so it should be a experience
