Hello all, Have been looking but can’t find if there are any events to support MS but not fundraise (not very good at that) or get togethers anything… Hugs to all x x x x x x
Do you have a local MS centre or MS society? These are normally quite active and a good source of support for each other.
Grrrr… on old site if you clicked onto some ones name you could see what area they are from. Yet another function lost on this new improved site. Anyway, I’m west London so if anyone wants a beer and chat etc then I’m up for one.

As far as I am aware, you can only find out where someone is from if they have put that on their profile, same as the old forum. I THINK the 'near me ’ tab (top of this page, second right of MS Support) should bring you onto a page that lists MS Society Branch MS Specialist Treatment & Therapy Information Points Support Group Information Event Fundraising Event Although how good it is for your area I don’t know. The City where I live only has the ‘Port Authority’ :?: :?: :?:  tagged on the map :? I can’t find My local branch The Resource Centre The Hospital where the MS clinic is But maybe I’m not looking properly or the ‘Port Authority’ has taken them over    V
I’m sure on old forum all you had to do was click name (Blue text oif poster) and it would show their avatar location type of MS they had erm (cuddly toy) oh yes drugs their on and about themselves. I shall click on to lots of random names and see if anything shows up  and see if anything like that workds here now. I did try the near me thing but if your trying to find people near you I think your stuffed. Facebook now has friends near you but then if they are your friends you would already know this. Just thought of having non friends who you don’t know, are bored and fancy a beer app or feature or look up a user information might help some people who like pubs or get out.
Oh Verona, Hmm ok say you found your Branch by googling it how does one add anything to the MS map to update branches that are not there.

Sorry, I don’t have an answer, my local branch is not there, it’s not on the regional page either… not even a contact number. Maybe they are still adding info to the web site. Have to say, it keeps the old brain cell(s) working, trying to find info on this web site

Lol Verona I can see port authority listed too but also have icons for the branches etc although a few of the blue that say they are branch meetings and you click on them like it tells you to do to get more info their is no further info being shown. But on my homepage it lists events near me - dublin marathon (thats a no go) belfast abseil (thought about trying that out but then decided i was to much of a coward for heights) and the xmas gala ball (bah humbug lol) Roisin xo

Type the bits and bobs you want to reveal under Interests V
Arhh silly me, I did not realize that edit profile (above left) is not your real profile you also have forum profile   So once I clicked ‘My homepage’ then clicked edit Forum Profile not edit profile I was able to enter the interests etc, It says with a ‘broken image’ I do not have a avatar now I am unable to find this in ‘Edit Profile’ ‘Forum Profile’ or edit Account settings. Also you have Edit Profile and also Edit Forum Profile when you click this it goes back to saying Edit Profile in Orange  with the interests. Also when you enter your website without http:// info it says the following The website address has to be a valid URL, including the protocol. For example http://www.example.com/. A valid url addy does not have a full stop after the dot com or any .co.uk Also a valid url does not have have www this is why people do 301 redirects from www to non www urls. Sad really this site is less than half baked and its service and functionality is only 10% of the old site I come back in 12 months maybe when waffle and around the houses to find anything will get fixed. bringing back the the usefull functions fields of the old site would be nice also. Sorry for mini rant but I feel sorry and angry that all the non web savy people here who have worse MS than me are struggling with this place and all the frustration this must be causing people. Well done though after 20 years of web stuff this is a first for me where you have 2 different profiles and an Account to edit all on the same website. Not exactly seamless is it? Anyway Toodles

Forum profile information is returning in the next version - forum profiles and general website profiles are kept separate for privacy reasons. Forum profile information is shareable - the other profile information is used so you can customise your experience on the rest of the site. Greg [Admin]

Google made some changes to their mapping system which caused problems on our map yesterday. We’ve resolved most of them and we’re still fine tuning the data for branches. I’m aware of a problem in Belfast and I’m looking into it. Once we get all the local branches contributing events etc. to the new site there will be pins for all sorts of groups/events/centres. Before the map function this information was only available on branch websites so casual browsers didn’t see the full extent of what happens in their area. This new approach is already pushing our events and activities up the Google rankings making us easier to find and more visible. greg [admin] Greg [admin

Maybe they have been able to spy on Edwin Poots Office/Meeting with their cameras lol got inside info City A&E closing end of Nov (temporary measure allegedly) further downgrading of City imminent ENT already been shut down on city site moved cross the westlink to the RVH Maybe they are thinking of a putting a new hospital on the Antrim Road, making it a new City hospital Though i would say that more like where you see the city hospital on the map now is likely where the end of the car park queue will be when the everything id moved to the centre of arrogance, sorry (sic) i mean excellence, know as the RVH R
