I waws dx in 2000, now on Tysabri. I have been put in the work group for ESA having been on IB for years. I am appealing but need a letter from neuro on how MS effects me. He refuses to write it, even spoke to cheif exec. office who won’t help. I am at Norths Staffs hospital under Dr. Al-Araji have been seeing him for years and I wonder if anyone else is at this hospital and having the same problem? My GP will write about my mental health but says he can’t write about MS as he’s not an expert and cannot understand why the neuro won 't.
I am suicidel because of this, feel like telling hospital exactly where they can put their Tysabri infusion. Please help if you can, I think there are a few on here who are at Norh Staffs, I am getting help with the appeal from We;lfare rights but can’t see how I can win without info from the neuro.
im really sorry that your neuro is mesing you about, is there another neuro at the hospital that can look at your records that would be willing to help you? please dont be suicidal, i know its hard, but there is a way round things, there is a light out there, you’ll het alot of help and support here
Do you have an MS nurse? Maybe he/she would be willing to write you a letter.
Hi, back in the days when I was told I had PPMS, my MS nurse wrote a couple of letters for me regarding claimimg issues. Her letters were accepted. Why not try your`s, if you have one?
Please try not to have suicidal thoughts. I hope you can find the strength to fight for what is your`s by right. You will win through because you are a genuine claimant, not like some of the scroungers who seem to get benefits easily.

Your GP may not be able to write about your MS, but he/she can certainly write about your symptoms and what meds you are on as well as make a direct statement that you should be put into the support group.
Do you see a physio? If you do, get a letter from him/her too, detailing your symptoms and how they affect you.
Your MS nurse too?
And what about an ophthalmologist, speech therapist, OT,…? Basically anyone with a medical qualification who will detail your symptoms and their effect!
The more the better

Thanks for all your advice everyone. I’m due to have a Tysabri infusion tomorrow so I’ll speak to the nurse to see if I can get any help.
